Biding Time
Time is relative. You're born. You live, and you die, your lifespan predisposed by your species, your health, and your luck. But what if there were a species who colored outside the lines?
In Back Bay, Massachusetts dwells such a person. She goes about her life wanting nothing more than to run her business, right some wrongs, and never love again. She keeps her footprint small and her circle of acquaintances even smaller, and she's an expert at it. So, when her neighbor, Ruby Miller, makes her interest known, it falls on ears deafened by centuries of life.
Betrayal leaves scars. Imprinted on your heart and in your mind, they simmer under the surface of every hour of every day of every year, constant reminders of pain, sadness, and loss. Some handle those wounds with retaliation, paying back the hurt with hurt of their own, while others use the ache of a fractured heart like a talisman. Forever holding onto a keepsake filled with the ruins of love gone wrong, they erect walls and promise themselves they'll never love again.
Just because you deny it, doesn't make it go away. Just because you put others in its path, doesn't weaken its hold. And just because you've loved and lost countless times, doesn't mean the right love won't come along. Love is not ruled by the brain, but rather the heart…and even the most damaged is not immune to its sway.

What Readers Are Saying
The book is already an award winner, and rightfully so
Phenomenal read! Don't let the length intimidate you - there are so many elements involved that there's no way that it gets boring. It's far from a typical f/f vampire novel, having a lesser used origin story, and there are even times when it pokes fun at the myths. It is very well written and there are some jaw-dropping surprises/twists throughout its length. Don't miss it!!

A lesbian vampire story with an original twist, set within a great history
Well this was quite a complex story, it really held my interest all the way through. All the characters were very well drawn and easily remembered. As a vampire story, there were some original twists that made it quite interesting. As lesbian fiction, it was the next thing to spellbinding. This is probably one of the best books I've read over the last year, (and I read a lot) and it needed every one of the 770 pages it had to actually tell its story and all its subplots. I would give this book 10 stars if I could, but since five is all they'll allow, that's what it gets. READ IT!

Biding Time is Quite a Ride
What a ride! I decided to read Biding Time because I love Lyn Gardner' stories. I was never inclined to read about vampires, about anything supernatural or even remotely horror. But, I started reading. I was instantly hooked into this story. I knew nothing about vampires except seeing Twilight a long time ago. This book is amazing. It has love, sadness, loss, very hot scenes and by the time you're a quarter into the book, you forget you're reading about beasts that may or may not exist. The book is long, but I never wanted it to end. It has twists and surprises and it will keep you turning the pages.
I couldn't put it down.

Such a read!
Well written with a depth of story line and character reveal and growth. It has all that and so so much more. The world that Lyn Gardner has written kept me captivated through out. There is an actual story line and lots of action. There is a twist or two that catch you off guard.
Simply, I loved it and hated to see it end. I would hope that we see Bennett and her clan again. Thank you for an enjoyable read.

Really a great perspective on a familiar genre
Since this is my third time reading this book, I thought it time to give a review! I love the story, the characters and the many twists and surprises. For those who like a lot of sex... You will be very satisfied. Personally I don't need to read so much...however it IS well written. I love the different factions of vampires and that Ms. Gardner provides a wonderful history that is very exciting and fulfilling.
Very entertaining. A must read.
