Going on Red
Brodie Shaw not only loves her life, she lives it to the fullest. A successful architect, she spends long hours turning her clients' dreams into reality, but when Friday night comes along, Brodie's focus shifts from work to play…because Brodie likes to play.
Out and proud, Brodie doesn't lack in female companionship. As long as it lasts for only one night, Brodie is content to go about her life. She's not interested in a relationship, and out of all the women who have come and gone from her life, not one has turned Brodie's head for more than it took to bring her to climax, and then she meets Kate Monroe.
Kate Monroe is dedicated, diligent, and determined. A Detective Inspector on the outskirts of London, Kate is as disciplined in her job as she is in her life because Kate has a stubborn streak, and Kate has a plan. She's plotted out her life like a roadmap, but upon meeting Brodie Shaw, another avenue appears. It's tempting. It's oh so tempting, yet a life set in stone is not easily crumbled, and Kate's not one to give up without a fight.
Love happens out of nowhere. A glance, a touch, a scent, a word, and a life planned to the nth degree is altered in the blink of an eye. It's a detour you tell yourself you don't want to take. You can't take it. You shouldn't take it. You must not take it, and you do everything in your power to stay on the straight and narrow path you had planned…or do you?
What Readers Are Saying
Playgirl architect vs. straight-laced detective - Cupid's got his work cut out for him!
First off, this was just the sort of story I've come to expect from this author - very well written and heartwarming, with fair doses of angst, tension and steamy romance. Two lovely MCs, a nicely detailed supporting cast and a delightfully high page count that you can get lost in for hours.
An easy five star rating. Looking forward to wherever the author's imagination comes up with next.

I cannot recommend this book enough
I loved this book. I could not stop reading this book to find out what was happening next between Brodie and Kate. Kate has fears and feelings that are justified throughout the book, no matter how frustrating they can be. Brodie and Kate's interactions are always what I am looking forward to and I wanted to see where it would go. There is a lot of tension between the two characters which only makes the story better.
I always love everything I read by Lyn Gardner, and this one was no exception. Her books are addicting and long and are well written. I can never put them down as I always want to see what is happening. They are long and go through a lot of the character's lives and make you really connect with the characters and see a longer period of their life. I could not recommend this book enough. I could not stop reading it.

Great read
As I always state in reviews, I'm a writer and avid reader. I support Indy writers who are good. Ms. Gardner is a great writer IMHO. This story transported me to times I experienced both character's side of the story. The characters were well developed and back stories were good. The Plot: I thought the story moved at a good pace, had twists and turns and for me was a page turner. She wrapped it up neatly after exposing the raw emotions of both characters. I found myself wanting a second book for Kate and Brodie.
Definitely recommend this author's books.
