Give Me a Reason
Intelligent, confident and beautiful, Antoinette Vaughn had it all until one night she went to help a friend and paid for it...with a life sentence in hell.
Four years later, Toni's judgment is overturned, but the damage is already done. She walks from the prison a free woman, but she's hardly free. Actually, she's hardly alive. A prison without rules can do that to a person.
She was raised amidst garden parties, stables and tennis courts, but now a dingy flat in a decrepit building is what Toni calls home. It's cold, dark and barren just like her heart, but it suits her. She doesn't want to leave much behind when she's gone, but the simplicity of her sheltered existence begins to unravel when a beautiful stranger comes into her life.
How does anyone survive in a world that terrifies them? How do you learn to trust again when everyone is your enemy? How do you take your next breath and not wish it were your last? And if your past returned...what would you do?

What Readers Are Saying
Ten stars !!!
Talk about agony and ecstasy ... I seldom tear up reading a story, but with this one, I felt every emotion possible ... laughter, tears, love, sadness, joy, all of it. Lyn drew me in with her very artistic and literary style in telling this tale of the power of love in healing the heart and the mind. As a psychotherapist, I appreciated the way Toni's healing process was unveiled and Abby's role in that. I loved the loving, caring, validating way the characters spoke to each other. I loved the message of moving away from blame and fear toward forgiveness of self and others. I loved the story of growth and redemption, not only as Toni gradually heals, reconnects with who she once was and becomes even more loving, powerful and free, but also as Laura grows from loving Toni. This is a world class love story with real characters and real love-making that gives us all a reason to trust love.
On a five star rating scale, I would easily give this book ten stars. It's that good. It may be the best ever of the traditional contemporary romance genre. Lyn gives us all a gift with this one.

I love this author…
This was a story that was so hard to read. The MC's that she created were two of the best characters ever. I felt every emotion and sentiment between the two. The love and dedication between them was so palpable and amazing.
Who wouldn't and couldn't fall for Toni? That love started when Toni was hidden underneath what the dregs of society did to her. But as soon as Laura saw her, she was above notice. For goodness to survive inside a person that saw and experienced what she did is beyond me. To maintain any humanity after that is miraculous.
This book touched me from the very first page. My heart cried out for Toni. And it wanted Laura to answer that cry.

My New Favorite Book!
Give me a reason is one of those stories that draws you in right from the beginning. Once I picked it up I could absolutely not put it down. This story is not your typical lesbian romance novel; It's so much more than that! It's smart, funny, devastating, shocking, romantic and humbling all at the same time. Laura and Toni's love for one another is beautifully paced although unconditional from the beginning and the entire story very gradual and well planned out. I'm so impressed by this author's ability to beautifully portray each and every character in a way that you become attached to every one of them and their individual stories as well as their relationships to one another. This book made me laugh, made me cry, made me angry and happy and so very protective of the lead characters.

Amazing!! It was like watching a movie !!!!!
I loved this story so much!! This love story makes us realize what we have in our lives. It makes us appreciate the things we possess and forget what we want. It shows that pure love that comes from the heart goes beyond all sacrifices. The story teaches us how important is to understand with love people's fears and frustrations. To never give up!! There were parts that I laughed, but believe me, there were parts where I couldn't hold my tears. The vivid sensory images used for describing scenes brought everything to my mind as a movie. This story was a movie, so realistic that I could feel the fear and the love presented by the main characters. That's why I was so captivated with them and their actions.
